IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT HS SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR THE 2009-10 SCHOOL YEAR:

Parents,

We are going through some changes at Holton High School and want to make you aware of them. Monday night, the Board of Education voted to adjust the school calendar. In order to accomplish this, some changes at the high school need to happen. First of all, students will not have school on Monday, November 16. This will be a Professional Development day for the teachers. Starting Tuesday, November 17 the daily bell schedule will be adjusted to begin school at 8:04 AM and dismiss at 3:06 PM. In addition, the daily break between first and second blocks will be eliminated to add those minutes to class time.

Another change that will occur immediately after Thanksgiving Break will be the end of “Late Start Thursdays.” On Thursday, December 3, and on subsequent Thursdays, school will start at the regular time (at 8:04 AM). With the loss of instructional days, we believe it is important to have the students in class as much as possible.

We understand that these changes may cause you some inconveniences, but we appreciate your support and understanding during these tough times.
