Rotary Holton Club Scholarship -

 

Jack Rose Memorial Scholarship - The memorial fund will be able to award two five hundred dollar scholarships for the fall of 2007. These will be renewable each semester with proper notification and a copy of the students transcript. The scholarship will continue each year and new scholarships will be awarded each spring depending on funds available. Information for the applicant.

 

Simon Youth Foundation- Simon Youth Foundation (SYF) has awarded numerous one-time and renewable monetary scholarship to qualified high school seniors across the country. In fact, SYF has awarded $4.4 million in shcolarship to deserving youth since 2000. The application for the senior class of 2008 is now availabe, and is due by January 31, 2008. Pilot Club Scholarship -

Edna G Casey Memorial Scholarship- She was from Havensville, Ks. She was actively involved in her community through her church, Republican Woman as a district officer, United Methodist Women, Chapter P PEO, School teacher and a long-time promoter of education. The pass six months she was a resident of Jackson County Nursing Home where she developed a deep respect for all health care workers, therefore it was her desire and that of her family to offer financial aide to those who would, seriously, desire to pursue a degree in Nursing.

Brooke Scholarship - The Brooke scholarship was established to assist students from Holton High School & Jackson Heights High School in pursuing post-secondary education. The number of scholarships and amounts will vary based on the money available yearly from the Brooke Scholarship trust fund. This is a non-renewable scholarship.

KACRAO-The Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Adminssions Officers (KACRAO) offer scholarships to reward students who have demonstrated quality leadership during their high school years. There are four $500.00 awards for the 2008-2009 academic year, which may be used at KACRAO member institutions (list enclosed). The scholarships will be designated as follows; one per school type : Four-year public, four- year private, community college, and technical/vocational. The awards are not need-based and may be used iin conjunction with other awards. click HERE for details

Reba Benaka- The Reba M. Benaka DePree scholarship was established to assist students from Holton High School and Jackson Heights High School in pursuing a post-secondary degree. The number of scholarships and amounts will vary based on the money available from the Reba M. Benaka DePree scholarship trust fund.

Ireland Scholarship - Cecile Ireland -A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Holton High School senior who will be entering an accredited college or junior college following graduation. It will be awarded to a student who has demonstrated by word and deed that he is a true patriot. One who truly believes in the heritage, traditions and basic values of our country. VFW Auxiliary Scholarships - The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary scholarship is for $250. The applicant must be a direct descendant of a current active member of Holton VFW Post #1376 or it's Auxiliary. Scholarship may be used for college, vocational technical-trade school, or business school.

Margaret Van Horn Scholarship - Selection of the recipient will be based on scholastic, initiative, and financial need. A $5.00 fee must accompant an application.

Kansas County Clerk's Association Journalism, Political Science, or Communications Scholarship - Nineteen $500 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors or freshman and sophomores in college.

Holton Lions Club Scholarship - Two $250 scholarships to Jackson County High School students. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or above, financial need, submit a resume, essay, and photo. Details available with application.

Jackson County Farm Bureau Scholarship - Applicant's parents must be a member of Jackson County Farm Bureau. Deadline to Mrs. Rhule by April 1st.

Wal*Mart Foundation Scholarship - Will be available on-line from November 1, 2006, through January 12, 2007. More information, printable online instructions, and the link to apply for these and other Wal-Mart Foundation programs are found at http://www.walmartfoundation.org . The access code e (SWCS) must be used to access this application process. In addition to submitting the online application, students must submit all required information to Scholarship Program Administrators (SPA) as directed by January 12, 2007. No exceptions will be made for late entries.
