Drafting 1- 1 unit of credit, Grades 9-12

This class covers the basics of lettering, care of drafting equipment, sketching, multiview drawing, pictorial drawings, dimensioning and basic descriptive geometry. This will give students the opportunity to discover the career of a technicians, assemblers, electricians, architects, inspectors, engineers, and many more.

 

Drafting 2,3,4- 1 unit of credit, Grades 10-12 PreReq: Drafting I
The class involves development of skills in instrument drawing and the basics of CAD drafting. Advanced problems of types covered in mechanical drawing I as well as sectional views, auxiliary views and revolution, production drawings, conventional representation of bolts, screws, and other machine parts and revolutions

 

Advanced Technology- 1 credit, 10-12, PreReq: Drafting 1

This class is designed for students to expand their knowledge in the areas of technology. Students will be working with a lab partner in various modules. Modules covered in this class are AutoCad II, advanced laser technology, laser culiminations, video editing, 3D studios, advance robotics, small engine, and blue printing reading. Most all of these modules involve some type of computer training on both IBM and Apple computers.

Cabinet Making- 1 credit, 11-12, PreReq: Drafting 1, Application Required

The following skills will be taught: proper use of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies; understanding sketching, drawing, and drafting skills; assembly, installation and leveling cabinets; construction of counter tops; identification of various types of furniture and cabinet designs; interpretation of working drawings, design, symbols and specifications; identification of different ways of joining woods, and estimating materials and costs

Residential Architecture- 1 credit, 11-12, PreReq: Drafting 1, Application Required

Students will be involved in residential construction. This class is recommended for students with a career goal of architect, engineer, construction science major, or construction principals, materials and processes common to modern house construction. Students will learn these concepts through a "hands-on" opportunity made possible through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Students can expect to work hard in this class ad at times will be subjected to uncomfortable weather conditions such as rain and cold. Seniors may enroll for 2 blocks.
