Freshman PE/Health is the only required course within this department.
Freshman PE/Health-1 credit, 9
This class is designed to address many student needs in the area of life activities, fitness, and good health. In addition to participation in sports and recreational activities, the class also studies why exercise is important, what their own fitness level needs may be, and how to attain and maintain their own health and fitness. Students will explore their own BMI, body fat %, and track weight for the duration of class. Units include nutrition, AIDS, education, human sexuality, and substance abuse are also included during the year..
Lifetime Fitness-1 credit per year, 9-12
This course will consist of activities in lifetime sports. In addition to team and individual sports, each student will be intorduced into a wide variety of warm up and training activities that include: speed training, plyometrics, and core strength and flexibilty. Sports include: swimming, volley ball, eclipse ball, basketball , team handball, football, soccer, badminton, pickleball, table tennis, hockey, boxing, and softball.
Advanced PE-1 credit per year, 10-12
This course will consist of activities in life sports.
