4Teachers.org- 4Teachers.org works to help you integrate technology into your classroom by offering FREE online tools and resources. This site helps teachers locate and create ready-to-use Web lessons, quizzes, rubrics and classroom calendars. There are also tools for student use. Discover valuable professional development resources addressing issues such as equity, ELL, technology planning, and at-risk or special-needs students.

Educator's Reference Desk - This site includes the 2000 lesson plans, 3000 value -added pointers to education information & organizations, and 200 question archives that have been on askeric.org.

Awesome Library - "The Awesome Library organizes the Web with 15,000 carefully reviewed resources." Browse or search the site.

edHelper.com - Access more than 7,000 lesson plans, 1,000 WebQuests by discipline, downloads, educational sites, and free worksheets.

Education World - This major educational site is updated weekly and is a specialized search engine for educational sites. It includes lesson plans, research materials, links, and chat boards for teachers.

Kathy Shrock's Guide for Educators - Recognized as one of the best, this site is updated weekly . Classified Web sites, tutorials, and professional growth articles are included in this site.

Education Index - Offers a topical approach to "the best sites on the World Wide Web."

The Gateway to 21st Century Skills - In addition access to educational resources on the Web, the Gateway to 21st Century Skills also hosts information about GEM. GEM is an acronym for Gateway to Educational Materials.

Full-Text Education Journals Online - This site includes links to numerous professional education journals.

FunBrain.com - Visit the FunBrain.com "Teacher's Lounge" for online quizzes that are fun. This is also a good place to share ideas with other educators.

Thinkfinity- This site contains standards based Internet content. Internet links, lesson plans, classroom activities and materials, and a search engine are included.

Kansas State Department of Education - This is the home page for KSDE with many links for Kansas educators. To find the state standards for a particular discipline, go to Search and type in "standards."

Online Workshops for Teachers - This site presents eleven online workshops for teachers that explore some of the current educational concepts and how teachers are implementing these ideas in their classrooms.

PBS Teacher Source - The PBS Teacher Source website is the web extension of PBS for educators and includes extensive curricular materials.

High Plains Regional Technology in Education - Trackstar is a program that allows teachers to organize a collection of websites into an interactive online presentation. It's an Internet web-based lesson plan maker. All lessons are searchable by keywork, subject and grade, themes and standards.

Eduscapes - This site has definitions, activities, and many other links and resources for thematic topics.

BrainPop - This unusual site has movies and other information on many different topics.

Virtual Field Trips - This site includes an extensive list virtual field to all kinds of places. This site by Midge Frazel is great and it is worth looking at the entire site, not just the virtual field trips.

AlternaTime - Time lines from all subject areas on the web.

AOL@School - This is a great educational portal for teachers of all grades. It includes resources for students and professional development and lesson plans for teachers.

Science Resources

WISE Science - Web-based Inquiry Science Environment is a site for science teachers, grades 4-12. It is funded by the National Science Foundation. Students work on inquiry projects on topics such as earthquake prediction and the deformed frogs mystery.

Kids Health - This site includes a section for students and one for parents. In the games closet, students can read interactive stories from kids who have different illnesses or look at animations of different parts of the body. This site is a project of the Nemours Foundation which was established in 1936 by Alfred DuPont.

Medlineplus - An excellent site for any type of medical or health information. This site is produced by the National Institute of Health.

English Resources

The Writing Den - The Writing Den is an online interactive writing tutorial for students in grades 6-12 seeking to improve their English reading, comprehension, and writing skills.

Language Arts Lesson Plans & Resources - A large number of lesson plans for various grade levels on numerous topics.

Math Resources

A Maths Dictionary for Kids - A Maths Dictionary for Kids is a colorful website that defines 400 common mathematical terms in simple language. The terms are organized alphabetically and an activity or visual example accompanies each definition.

Coolmath.com - This interactive math website describes itself as an "amusement park of math" and is divided into sections for parents, teachers, kids aged 3-12, and kids aged 13-100. This site features activities, games, and lessons in a variety of math areas such as fractals, algebra, and geometry.

American Memory - This site by the Library of Congress provides information on American history.

Kids in the House - An interactive site that helps students learn about the US House of Representatives and its role in lawmaking.

Webquests - This site from San Diego State University includes many webquests categorized by subject. Click "examples" on the home page to see the various webquests.
