• Analysis: Select one of Poe's poems and write your own "Free Verse Poem" from a similar point of view.
• Knowledge: Read and list at least 10 different poem by Edgar Allan Poe. Note your favorite and least favorite and tell why.
• Application: Research the life of Edgar Allan Poe. List 10 things/events from his life that might have influenced his writing.
• Comprehension: Read Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart. Compare Poe's ability to tell stories to his ability to write poetry. Note any similarities and/or differences.
• Synthesis: Plan a birthday party for Edgar Allan Poe. Design an appropriate invitation, guest list and activities for the party.
• Evaluation: Write a 1/2 page essay explaining which of Poe's poems express a mood or emotion that you yourself have experienced. Explain the image expressed (perhaps with actual lines from the poem) and how it made you feel. Explain the situation you were in when you experienced these feelings.
